New Species Of Clouded Leopard Described

Scientists have discovered that the clouded leopard found on the islands of Borneo and Sumatra is an entirely new species of cat. The secretive rainforest animal was originally thought to be the same species as the one found in mainland Southeast Asia Neofelis nebulosa.

the new species is described as Neofelis diardi.

I sat and watched the video a couple of days ago and it was amazing, the markings on it are great.

shame, are nearly all big cats endangered?

many big cat species are endangered but there are also many levels of endangerment

I belive they have now named the species
Glyptothorax exodon from Greek, glyptes = carver + Greek, thorax = breast + Greek, exos = outside + Greek, odous = teeth
still no pics for it though
