So I finally got my girl (brown with yellow fins) some sisters! A dark purple with black head, a white with red fins, and a blue with black head that shines green (looks teal)... No problems the first 15 minutes, then the bickering started... So upsetting, I spent a long time at the store picking out the right color & the healthiest & biggest girls I could find, and the teal one has about 5 chunks missing... Shouldn't pick so many fights... Hopefully they'll be better in the morning... I'll give them a while to adjust... The tank isn't fully decorated yet, but think the girls should have enough hidey holes...

And the white & red finned girl - she's the only one not fighting

beautiful girls, congrats, sorry to hear they are fighting. That last one is a cambodian, really lush

New tealish girl hiding after a couple fights If they can't find a place to hide in that jungle they are looking for a fight. My girls fought for a couple days until they settled down a little. I was hesitant about putting my Giant Betta in but she doesn't pick on anyone. If she sees a fight break out she'll go over and break it up.

They seem to have calmed down today, 3 of my girls said hi when I fed them and no squabbles over food, the white one is hiding still...

Pretty fish. I hope everything works out with them! You may want to get up in the night to check on them. When I did my sorority, three ripped each other to shreds while the other three were fine. The next morning, the others (including my first girl who had been alone for about a month) was all torn up. That's when I decided not to keep them together.

How big is the tank? I think they are better in slightly larger groups? 5 or 6 really. If you do add some more though, you'll need to take them all out and rearrange the tank, then put them all back in so they can re-establish the hierarchy.
You have some very pretty colours there :)

It's a 30 gal tank that's not filled all the way at this time... I actually had a caualty the other night when I got home... One of the girls had been hiding to the point of having to search for 10-15 min for her to still not find her, then I'd find her a couple min later... Well the other night when I got home I found her at the back of the tank with her face in the gravel and her tail straight up... I fished her out and looked her over, and it looked like her belly exploded... Fins & everything were intact, no body damage other than a hole where her belly was... So I took her back and got a new girl to replace her, and wasn't sure if the remaining 3 had enough time in the couple days I had them to establish anything, so I got another girl to go with her so she wouldn't be the only new girl in the tank... everyone seemed to be doing ok... I actually left their cups floating in the tank for a couple hours in the hopes the bickering could be somewhat avoided...
