Hi all, hope everyone had a great xmas. I was busy adjusting my tank to try and make it look like a natural habitat for my Apistogrammas. Here are a few snap i took of the adjustments so far.

looks cool mate very natural

they;ll breed in there!!! :good:

The grass-type fountain-like plants are probably not aquatic.

If you want it to look more natural, litter the bottom with oak leaves.

My first thought was. "Uh-oh, mondo grass!". Someones sold you a non-aquatic plant i believe. All to common unfortunately. They will argue its a "marsh-plant", which it could be (don't know) but if it is, it won't survive fully submerged forever. I too had this exact looking plant and mine was mondo grass and died.

On the subject of the tank it looks fantastic. I really love that wood, its an absolute beast piece of wood :hyper:

What stocking do you have in their currently?

Plants were in my previous set up for the past 4 months and have been fine for now, they'll be taken out soon as Ive ordered a load of different Echinodorus plants which are usually found in South American habitat. I have just put in Indian Oak leaves but they'll take a while before dropping to the floor and Alder cones.

It now holds the following:
Apistogramma. Borellii 1 X MALE
Apistogramma. Cacatuoides 1 X MALE (GOLD), 2 X FEMALE & 3 JUVENILES (GOLD) 2 X MALE, 1 FEMALE. Probably get rid of males when they get bigger.
Apistogramma. Macmasteri 3 X JUVENILES (GOLD)
Wild Apistogramma. SP 'Rotpunkt' 1 x MALE, 1 X FEMALE
Apistogramma. Panduro 4 X JUVENILES (UNKOWN SEXING)
2 X Elephant nose fish (WILL BE GOING TO GOOD HOME AFTER New Year)
2 X Albino Bristle Nose Plec
Bolivian Ram 1 x FEMALE

How big is the tank?

What is the aggression like with all the apistogramma species in there?

I know with Malawi more cichlids can ease aggression as there is not enough space to establish territory.

I'm interested to see if this works with Apistogrammas.

Currently no aggression between all the Apistogramma. The biggest male is a Apistogramma Cacatuoides Gold that you can see on the pics, no other male is a big as him yet so only time will tell if the tank becomes aggressive. As i put on my stocklist quite a few are juveniles still. Im collectin 3 Pigeon Blood Discus on Saturday, thought id change the tank to a South American tank instead of all Apistogramma.

Tjhat looks like a Jewull 180 Litre tank to me -
luv the set up.
The branches of wood look fantastic !! :good:
