I got some new plants for my birthday and wanted to make sure none of them belonged in a pot out in the sun.

El Niño Fern (Bolbitis heteroclita)
Anubias nana

Do both of those need to be tied onto a piece of gravel or can they be burried? Also, I got a Marimo moss ball, can that go in the tank with no problem? I also got a piece of mopani wood, is that safe to have in my tank?

anubias should be tied to a rock or driftwood for best results---I am not sure of the fern.   Mopani wood is fine to use in your tank.  Consider tying the anubias to the wood.

I believe both of them you want to tie to wood or rock.
Moss ball should be fine, and mopani is safe.

Scrub the mopani with a toothbrush or similar to remove dirt first and immerse it in a bucket of freshly boiled water for 10 minutes to sterilize. You can leave it to soak for longer if you want to remove the tannins from the wood.
Edit: *a new toothbrush, not a used one!
