Hello all, stocked a few new fish Saturday, water was fine before hand.
All fish are doing well apart from one Molly which has developed a white anal fin and one pectoral fin also same.
It looks like a fungal infection to me,tested water straight away all readings good apart from nitrate was up a tad so did a 50 percent change and is now at zero.

I can not get any meds till tomorrow so I hope he will be ok till the morning.
I have white spot treatment here but it's defo not that.

Something always seems to crop up with fish keeping !

How many gallons is the tank please?
How many fish and which type?
Can you post your water stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph.

The fins do they look cloudy with excess slime?
Any white, pink, or red, edging to fins?
Any cotton wool, or white cotton strands on the fish fins?
Do the fins show any signs of red streaking?
Do the fins look raggy in appearance?

Nitrate 0 ammo 0 nitrite 0 ph 7.5 nitrate was at 10 till I did a water change tonight that's why it's at zero righ now.

120 litres

Six danios, six black tetra, three Corey's,two platies, two baby blue ram and a rogue snail from plants from Lfs

Cloudy yes slimy no
No pink edging
Looks like cotton will a bit yes
No red streaking
The fins look fine apart from the obvious white patches.

The fish seems happy and swimmimng now.

Can you isolate the fish for treatment?
As I would treat her with myxazin by waterlife. I see you have 2 baby rams. You can only half dose when you have fry in the tank.

Thanks for the help, sorry I should of said there three months old. No I have no way of isolating unless I put a clear bowl in the top of the tank tomorrow?

I would only half dose the myxazin with having the young rams in the tank.
The snail needs to be removed as medications can kill them.

Good Luck.

This morning the white patches have some white spots on them and also a few white spots on his tail ?

Do the white spots look like a grain of salt in size, or bigger?
Are the fish starting to flick and rub on objects in the tank?

Sorry. But I can't see much in the pic. It's a bit blurry.

Are the spots on the fins the size of a grain of salt, or sugar?

Hi mate no they are not I will try take a vid my mollies never stay still. They are the spaniel of the fish world lol\

Do the spots on the fin have any redness to them, or pink areas. Like a red, or pink centre, or a red, pink, circling around the edges of the spot.
Or do you mean spot patches?
Check the spots don't resemble a cluster of eggs, or a cauliflower.

No none of them,I think it may be both white spot causing fin rot. I have dosed with treatment fingers crossed.upped the temp to. Thanks for the help ill keep you posted.
Checked water again and all is well all zero and nitrate with a trace.
