went to LFS this morning and got some RO water to sort out salt problem... and i picked up a light.. was wondering if it would be ok to keep some corals now... just like brain coral, zoanthid, polyp etc etc... i have a 15w standard light about 1ft long and a 30w T8 light 3ft long,18000k. the tank is 3ft long, 2ft high/deep and 1ft wide. would this be enough lighting for corals ? i know some ppl kep coral under just 15w standards lights but i wanted to be safe rather than sorry so got the T8 and ballast. any advice welcomed

forgot to mention my tank is a hell of alot brighter now, i thought it was pretty bright with just the crappy 15w tube but now i added the T8 the fish look so much brighter and the standard tube just looks green now i turn the T8 of lol. anyone with FOWLR with just standard lighting its deffinatly worth the upgrade even if you dont plan on having corals.

I'd get some reflectors before I added significant corals. You'll more than double your light output with a good polished aluminum reflector

ah kewl thanks mate... is this one any good ? had it laying around from when i kept red belly piranhas.
