Hi all, hope you’re well. My daughter has a white Betta and I swear he’s blind so was googling and came across this website. I’ve had Oscar’s in the past and hope to again in the future. I personally think they make great pets! We also have a few tetras in another tank. Looking forward to learning from you all!

Does the fish have red lines in the fins?
If it does, check the water quality for ammonia and nitrite. And do a big water change and gravel clean the substrate every day for a couple of weeks.
Make sure any new water is free of chlorine/ chloramine before it's added to the tank.

Hi! Thank you. I did a big water change last week, I will clean his gravel and check levels. I Thought it was just his colouring or from the food.

Red lines in the fins is blood travelling through veins and is an indication of a water quality issue (usually ammonia). If you ever see red lines in a fish's fins, do big (75%) water changes and gravel clean the substrate every day for a week or until the red goes.
Make sure any new water is free of chlorine/ chloramine before it's added to the tank.
