hi, i've been enjoying looking through the forums and seeing everyones tanks.
my 55 gallon tank is about 3 years old now and has gone through a lot of changes. and just recently, since my partner and i moved, have we started stocking it a bit more. i would love to redo it a bit, adding some black sand and some more fake plants (in the end i would love real plants but i don't know enough and it's too much money at this moment).
right now we have :
16 cardinal tetras
6 rosey barbs
1 common pleco (he's about 5-6" now)
2 angelfish
1 betta
1 bolivian ram
and then there are some fish that are leftover from awhile back that we are not going to add too after they die
1 golden barb, 1 penquin tetra, 1 lemon tetra, 1 black skirt, 2 danios. i am surprised how long the golden barb has lived..it seems there is always something wrong with him and it's been that way for a year or so. he keeps getting red sores on his body and then they disappear by themselves. he is a fighter.

this is ok for the amount of fish right? more, less?.

any suggestions?

that is a great looking tank!

very well done!

just wondering, it looks like ur input and out put for ur canister are on the same end of the tank. i would recomend splitting them up to seperate ends of the tank.

just a suggestion.

looks great though!
awesome lookin fish btw also
:good:

thank you :).

the filter is an eheim canister filter...so i'm not really sure if i could do that..hmm. i cut the tubes already and everything. i'll look into getting another tube if that will help.

i wish i could keep some silver dollars but i think that the tank would be over populated then :p, and i'm not sure how they do with angelfish. (even once the stragglers die or are given to my lfs).

Erm why is your betta in there? If you haven't already noticed he's been torn up probably by the angels or rams. I suggest you take him out and medicate him. Other than that, nice tank

the betta has been there for over a year now and hasn't ever been beat up by any of the fish (he usually is the one to chase them!).
his fins have always looked tore up, not sure why, when we got him he looked a little iffy. and at one point he scraped himself as well.
he loves it in that tank though. he likes chasing the fish certain times and they all just run and ignore him.
if i felt any of my fish were getting beaten up i would definitely remove them from the tank!.

:)
