Finally got some dwarf cichlids  Just acclimitized them they're just hanging out under the bogwood atm, will get sum pictures soon. Just wondering they are swimming very sloly compared to my harlequins is this normal? I'm guessing I'm only used to how fast my harlequins are because theyre the only fish i have

They're probably just feeling very nervous and intimidated by all the new things
around them.
Give them a couple of days and you should see a BIG improvement and they get more confident.
It won't take them long to learn about meal times and be actively looking to get fed.
Try and make itthe same time every day to get them into a routine :look:

well I've just fed them some bloodworms which they seem to be enjoying  Can't post photos just yet but was wondering do females definitely have black lines on tere bottom fins? because the one I thought was a female has coloured up more in the last day and looks alot more like the one I think is a male?

Cacatuoides like to cruise along, so they are slow in general but when they want to be, they can be fast. Wouldn't worry.

Hi took a long time to post but here are a couple of pics of myu new fish,I'm pretty sure ones a female but not sure on the other but I would go for male, can anyone help me with this? Also at what size would they start to spawn, and at what water hardness?

I think that the first pic is a female, and the second is a male looking at colouration and fins...if you could get some close up pics that would be nice as the male should have some nice patterning on his fins
