Hi all im looking for a bit of advice for new fish for my tank i have 8 corydoras juliis in my tank for about 2 weeks now and they are doing well . I did a fishless cycle on my tank which i cycled for about 3 months what i wanted to know is could i add more fish what kind how many and so on or am i at my limit. my tank holds about 70l sand substrate , plastic plants, resin ornaments and a piece of bogwood.

hi there,

well your tank is around 18 gallons, so for the first 6 months or so you should stick to around 1" of fish per gallon of water so 18" of fish total.

you have at the moment

8 x corys - 1.5" each so 12" total. They will actually get larger than 1.5" but not within the fiorst 6 months so for your first few months stocking you can count them as that.

so room for another 6" or so of fish.

I'd suggest a school of rasboras or tetras, something along those lines.

Then after a few months of the tank running steadily like this you could add another smallish school of fish or could go with a pair or trio of slightly larger feature fish..... lots of options really :good:
