Hello I am going to set up a 10 gallon betta tank. I was just wondering what some good tankmates might be. I have done it with frogs before and they seem to get along pretty well I was just wondering on some other tank mates. Fish or invertebrates or whatever.
 
Honestly is a gamble. And not one that works out for the tankmates in most cases.

Id opt for either nerite snails, mystery snail, or shrimp
 
I had a snail with my betta way back when, seemed to work well, plus the snail was entertaining to watch :D
 
Depending on the temperament of the betta, shrimps can be an expensive snack.
Bettas have been known to bite the antennae off mystery snails, so nerite snails are a safer option.


Bettas are not community fish. They are best kept on their own, they don't need or want tank mates.
It is not unknown for a betta which is seemingly living happily with tank mates to suddenly snap and go on a killing spree. And some bettas can be intimidated by their tank mates and spend their lives in hiding before slowly declining and dying.
