Yesterday I got a new female betta: a cute little cambodian crowntail. She was in a community tank and was swimming around fine. Now I have her home, she is hardly moving, except for the occasional trip up for air or a short swim around the one gallon tank. My water params are fine, she has plants and decorations.... do you think she is lonely and missing her betta buddies at the LFS? How long should I let her 'adjust' for until I get seriously worried? She's so sweet, I don't want to lose her!

Anyone? Sorry for spamming, I just was certain someone here would know what to do...

Do you have a heater? Bettas are from tropical climates and appreciate warm water :)

leave her for another day.My betta took a week to settle in properly.I would try and tempt her with some bloodworms or something like that.Is the tank warm, did you aclimatise her properly? How is her breathing

I know salt can be used as a "general tonic" to help fish when they are stressed or something unknown is wrong. I have used salt in my betta tanks before, and I have also seen a major changes in my main tank when I added salt durring a mini cycle.

Thanks for your replies everyone. Sorry about my second post before, I was a bit flustered. Sorry if it came across as rude. :*

She seems to be a bit better now, her pectoral fins are fluttering and she is attempting to swim a bit. She even ate two HBH Betta Bites and kept them down. The thing that stumps me as to what the issue is, is that I did everything how I usually do it.... nothing out of the ordinary. I did exactly the same thing that I did when I got my other betta, and he is thriving: he has a nice big bubblenest.

Anyway, I have her heater set to 26 degrees celcius, she has aquarium salt and stress coat, pH 7.0. I think she's just having a rough time settling in. And maybe she's missing her buddies in the LFS tank she was in. I'll give her a bit more time to adjust. :)

Thanks again for your help everyone! :)
