I got a new baby betta named Roxy and now a few hours later when im about to go to bed she has a white spot on her tail. I took some water and substrate from my 55 gallon aquarium and I thought it had had an ick problem for a while but i hadnt seen it and i medicated the tank so i thought i cured it. I tried to get good pics of Roxy but do you guys think its ick or if she could be changing colors because she is in a better home? He had some silvers and white near her fins so i think shes a koi. I still have tons if medication left so i did the shrimp and invertebrate treatment size since shes so small. Do you guys think that will work? Im using the generic imagitarium parasite remedy

Move this to the tropical fish emergencies section and you will get answer sooner.

If the fish has white spot, you can treat it by raising the water temperature to 30C (86F) and keeping it there for 2 weeks, or at least 1 week after all the white dots have gone. No chemicals needed, just warm water.

its the morning, the spot is gone so i think the treatment worked. She looks very good

If it is white spot, it hasn't gone yet. It has simply dropped off the fish and is in the next stage of its life cycle where it multiplies inside its little white cyst at the bottom of the tank. In a couple of days the cyst will rupture open and release hundreds of new parasites to infect the fish. This is the only time you can kill the parasites, when they are swimming around looking for a new host.
