Hello! Finally got my tank set up!

I'm doing a fishless cycle with flake fishfood.

8x8x30in aka 8.3 gallons

Filter: Ehiem Aquaball (the smallest one)
Heater: A old used heater that on 79˚F keeps the tank at about 66˚F. (Will that be bad for my plants?)
Substrate: Fluorite mixed with black fluorite sand.
Plants: Assorted Crypts and Java Ferns
Light: 19 watt
Fish: None yet.

Ideas for fish?
Asian fish would be ideal as I like to keep things natural. A shallow asian stream biotope would be awesome. The flow from the filter is pretty good so that should be taken into consideration. A hillstream loach tank would be cool, and I would be willing to add a powerhead and remove some plants if necessary.

Any suggestions?

If it were me i'd use the tank for shrimp. not sure if you've looked into them or not but their cool things to keep, and aside from the flow the tank looks perfect.

Maybe a small shoal of a type of tetra too?
