hi

i have recently set up a 55gal 48x18x18 tank, which is well planted also rock and bogwood.

put my first fish in today:

2x senegal bichir aprrox 3"
3x ctenopoma acutirostre aprrox 1.5"

one of the birchirs is on the bottom exploring caves etc, but the other has constantly stayed at the surface,is this anything to worry about?

what is the best to feed the young bichir with,i have frozen bloodworms, brine shrimp, mosquito larve, freeze dried tubifex and no end of fry from a pair of mollies.

one last thing, future stocking i was thinking of adding an african knife and 2 butterfy fish would that be ok?

Nope it normal especially for senegals to hangaround the surface add some floating plants to make it more comfy

Yuo're doing good esp.if you get them to take freeze ried foods mine just look at fd and swim away you might want to add a good quality pellet into the diet-Anne

bought some hikari sinking carnivore pellets today, senegals love em.

sink a bit quick for the ctenopoma, bloodworms work good though.
