Hello there! I am very new to this aquarium world. I have a 5 gal in my office with a beta and a gold gourami in it and really enjoy it. So I decided to pick up this hobby. I am going to pick up my new 55 gal. tank and stand tomorrow and have been doing a lot of research. I have decided that after it cycles, I'm going to start a planted tank FIRST. I am going to have Java Fern, Anubius, and any other recommendations? Also going to put some drift wood and would love some recommendations for some other woods that I can put in there. I am also going to have a medium gravel substrate. I also going to avoid the fake plant route, my fish seem to be nibbling on them in my office tank. As far as fish go, I have a few favorites but not sure if they can cohabitate with each other: African dwarf frog, veiled angel fish, cherry barbs, female beta zebra danio, tiger oscar chilid.... for now. I would buy more than one of each except for the tiger oscar chilid. It will be a while before I get my plants in and even longer before I get my fish in. I do plan to set the tank up in the middle of the month and let it cycle for a while.
Any suggestions or advice for me? I'd really appreciate some.
Thanks!
Autumn
