Hey all,
I was hoping to get some insight on how to stock my tank.
It's 37g (30x12x22).

I'm looking to get 5 cory cats (probably false jullis), 4 swordtails (1 male 3 female), and 2 pearl gouaramis...any feedback?

Thanks!

Sounds like a light stocking.

Except the swordtails might fill the tank after a while...

I'd consider getting more of the cories, 5 is bare minimum really.6 is better, I'd think about going to 10 though.

Not sure how big the pearls get but maybe a trio of them too...

thanks..

i'm thinking i may get platies instead of swordtails since they're smaller...and then get more cories.

can i get 5 of one type of cory and 5 of another? or do they prefer to be in schools of single species?

They prefer single species. And that will get the most natural behaviour, if you got five of each you'd probably notice the groups staying within their own kind.

But they have been known not to worry to much.

If that tank is 22" tall, it would take a pair of angels nicely, assuming you happened to be one with tap water that is more soft and acid. But if its more neutral to hard then the livebearers you're thinking about will be happier. Just a thought..
