Those wee rectangular pieces, they’re small stands for the tank. They are stuck on each corner to raise the bottom of the tank ever so slightly. The tank actually had foam under it anyway so they aren’t really doing anything tbh

Your water is bang on perfect for the fish I mentioned, as is the aquascape. The Frogbit will spread and that will be needed as none of these fish appreciate overhead light.

I also find the way hatchetfish swim and eat

Hatchetfish are jumpers...not only is a lid required, but one with no openings, as well

They can (and will) jump through the smallest openings in a tank lid...speaking from experience

Yes, @Slaphppy7 remembered something I had not. And it can apply to many other fish too. Definitely hatchetfish though, that really removes them from the list here.

Thanks Slaphppy! I will make sure to take them off the list! I’d hate to lose any from them leaping out!
I’ve lost a neon rainbow from that once, and luckily, once managed to catch a Corydoras that jumped out after I accidentally startled him!
