I noticed the other day that one of my neons had a bit missing from its dorsal fin, which looked like it was probably nipped in a neon scuffle or whatnot. Its been about 3 days and there seems to be a darkish edge forming, so I'm assuming that must be fin rot. The neon is otherwise perfectly well.

So, I'm wondering... treat my entire tank? Separate him and treat him (which involves a bit of tank shuffling as I have cherry shrimp and a few fry living in my small tank at the moment so they would have to move)? Or... is it possible to remove him and dab the medication directly onto the affected area and treat it that way... maybe with a daily dab?

You could isolate him and use myxazin by waterlife. Or just add the medication to the whole tank.
Is your locations UK PairieSunflower?

Yes, my LPS aren't all that well stocked with fish meds, I tend to have to order. I do have Interpet Fungus and Fin Rot meds, don't quite like to use it full dose though. So far, I've only done a water change.

If you do decide to use the anti fungus and finrot medication, I would only half dose. As sometimes fish can have a bad reaction to the medication.

Good Luck.

Little Update. He's doing well and I am pretty sure his fin has started growing back as well... looks a lot less tatty and more like soft waves on the edge.

Thank you for the update. Glad to hear the fins are starting to heal.
