1. Water parameters. (ammonia, nitrate, nitrite, PH, temp', Hardness etc) All in normal range
2. A full description of the fishes symptoms. Keeping low to the floor and lost their neon-ness
3. How often you do water changes and how much. Last one yesterday - 60% (I have a nitrazorb in there but the water looked a little cloudy)
4. Any chemicals and treatments you add to the water. Cycle +, anti swimbladder infection, general tonic, aquarium salts..
5. What tank mates are in the tank. 5 Neon tetras, 5 molly's and 3 guppys.
6. Tank size. 40 litres
7. Finally Have you recently added any new fish? About a Month ago (5 Mollys)

Just wondered really why the neons have suddenly lost their neon-ness, they are keeping quite low to the tank too, generally looking a little unwell - Any advice?

It's been up and running about 5-6 months now..

As follows

It's been a whole lot worse!
The nitrite and nitrate were really high readings.. the nitrate was nearly brown and nitrite was a dark purple!
I've added a nitrazorb because whilst doing water changes every day the fish looked in distress!

I started off doing 20-30% then as the tests didn't get any better did 50-60% water changing.
Tank is about 40 litres and the tap water I remember from testing that is 'ok' .. I add cycle+ to make the 'tap water safe' for the fish when I put fresh water in.

Usually just rinse under tap water.. and it's a sponge type filter that sit's up top..

cycle each time you wash your sponges you kill the good bacteria
your supposed to wash them out in old tank water
you will always have a reading like that
if you wash your sponges in tap water
