i have a prego neon sword...once the fry is out should i seperate her from them or leave her and the father with them?

Swordtails, the kind you find in any LFS, will eat their own fry. The more adults that are in with the fry, the less fry will survive the predation. Instead of worrying about your adult fish caring fer the fry, you need to worry about them finding the fry. I use tight masses of plants like java moss to have my livebearer's fry survive. This is a picture of a clump of some in my guppy tank. Guppies are not as predatory as pet shop swordtails but they will decimate their fry if given the chance.

That 10 gallon, 37 litres, tank provides me with about 30 adult guppies each year to sell at fish auctions when I remove every adult for sale at each auction. Between auctions, the fry grow to be adults who then reproduce before I can sell them all off again. As you can see, the picture was taken before, not after, an auction. You can tell by the number of visible adult fish in the tank.
