Yo just looking for some suggestions. I live in Arizona therefore it's starting to get really hot this time of year. So i keep my tank at about 78-80 but i just checked it today and its up to 84* I was thinking of prepping and chilling about 5 gallons for a very small water change. Any objections or better ideas?

well chillers are kinda expensive, but adding ice to the new water might help. If the temp is climbing up and the room is getting hot to the point that your fish are in danger, then u might need a chiller, or maybe a fan ?????

This is something I might have to deal with soon, since California gets hot too.

I keep posion frogs and in the summer in glass tanks they can get over 30c which deadly. I get lots ice and place it on the tank hood and let melt away drip by drip, other then that common sence stuff like good airflow in that room whn you home or get a chiiler hooked up

Nelly all of that has been done thanks though :good: What i ended up doing was taking out 5 gallons in a bucket and adding ice until it was chilled, then i just put the water back in. temp has been slowly going back down to normal. I figured out why it went so high too. I had been sick the past couple of days and hate cold air blowing on my sick self so i closed my vents off, should be back to normal soon. Thanks everyone
