Need Some Expert Suggestions

Hello everyone.
I'm new at this game, and I was wondering if you could suggest some tankmates for betta. I've only got a small tank, about 60l (13 us gal) and want to make it as 'interesting' as possible.
I know that you must get this alot. I am realy confused, as I am getting conflicting info from various sources.
Can you help me?

Im a newbie too, but a lot of people recommend a few corys for the bottom of the tank.. the betta and the corys should ignore each other nicely, but add a little life to the tank....

Basically, avoid anything that has a flashy looking tail like guppies, as this might cause a bit of tension in the tank

There are very few tank mates for male bettas but you could get a few corys or a couple african dwarf frogs.

My personal experience is that the betta will harras the corys for a little while, then start ignoring them. I know my betta harasses my corys atleast three times a week. If you do get corys, get about 5. This way one will never be the only one that gets harrased.

Mostly adding other fish with betta just complicates matters. If you must get a dull colored similar sized fish that doesn't move much like cories and otos.
