At 13 seconds and beyond, there are fern-like plants that Amano is growing out of his tank, either floating or attached to driftwood. Does anyone know the name of this plant? If so or if not, I am looking for a plant to grow on a piece of driftwood that is taller than my tank, so I can grow an attached plant above the water line. I also have a 3D background, and I was wonderng if there is a plant that will grow out of the tank, preferably somewhat tall, wherein I can simply tuck the roots behind the background, down into the water, with leaves growing up and out.

I have a rimless tank that will be a planted discus tank.

I don't know if there are any bivarious plants that can simply be rooted in wanter, standing free and without substrate...hard to find info in this area ;)

I have thought about doing this many times, But not actually looked into it. So i am too jumping in on this too say HOW!!!!/

And that video  Those tanks are amazing, I mean look at some of the carpets!!!!

There are many species that will grow out of the water, at present I'm letting my Hygrophila polysperma grow emmersed, most aquatic species for sale are actually semi aquatic so will grow emmersed:

Not very tall yet but give it a few days:
