I'm getting a new 29 or 30 gallon fish tank soon, and I need help deciding what kind of fish to stock it with. Any suggestions. I've already got two ten gallon tanks, so really I'm upgrading. In one of the ten gallon tanks I have: 1 Betta, 2 Scissortail Rasbora's, 2 snails(name forgoten) and 1 African frog. I forgot the full name, but all I remember is that it has African in its name. But it's not African Clawed Frog. And the second tank has: 1 Betta, 2 snails(1 is huge), 2 Frogs, 2 Black tail sharks and 6 tetras (2 Black Skirts, 2 Red eye's and 2 Neon Tetras.

Black tail sharks? Bala sharks?

Mystery and ramshorn snails are the most common, prolly one of these.

What you should do is move all of your tetras to the bigger tank, since they have to be kept in groups if you want to make sure that they stay healthy.

I would definately move all tetras and rasboras to the bigger tank. I'm not sure of the black tailed shark. But would get more tetras and rasboras to get them in better groups like Tempestuousfury said. After that, adding a pleco or group of cories and a pearl gourami would be nice.

I would leave the bettas with the african dwarf frogs and snails... the bettas should be really happy to have a tank all their own now.

Oh and congrats on the new tank!
