Hey. I never trimmed my plants before because i always use to get slow grower plants such as anubias....now i bought some bacopa stem plants for my low light, low tech tank without added ferts...It grew rapidly but i think the top leaves were blocking off the bottom leaves causing the bottom half of the plants to fall apart....I need to trim it now so the same mistake doesnt happen again...Do i just snip off the stems half way of my bacopa and replant them into the subtrate...Should i discard the bottom half of the plant becuase its dying and barely have any healthy leaves on it???
Thanks in advance.

When there is insufficient light, the bottom part loses leaves. Snip the top half and replant. If the bottom half is rotting then its good to remove it from the tank to reduce pollution.

I just trimmed off the top half of the plant and replanted it...i discarded the rotting leaves...The only problem is since i cut the top half of my plant stem, there is no roots anymore when i replanted it....I just bought some jbl nutrient root tabs....If i placed the root tabs under the plants, will it stimulate the roots to grow back quicker? Or should i just wait until the roots are present until i place the root tabs under my plants???
thanks again.

Dont know if the root tabs will stimulate root growth. I would wait for root growth and then insert the tabs. Floating the plants could help root growth as they are closer to the light source.
