I thought it was hair algae but it grew in bushes with long green smooth hair. I think it is some type of hair algae but i am not sure. I checked a lot but it didn't seem to be any of the algae that i found. Can someone please help me identifying this algae on my drift wood?

green filamentous algae.

It's harmless but can spread and grow long and cover plants, but when it's short, it looks really nice.

wow, mine only covered the drift wood near the top. It looks so fluffy in the current. Since it cannot spread, can i keep it? I'll wait for it to grow longer to see

sorry typo, it can spread.

It's easy to control though, just pull the long stuff off and throw it on the garden.

I don't think it's a filamentos algae. I mean it has a bushy type of look, also without the fishy smell. It moves beautifully with thr current.
