I'll try and take a picture soon...

I just bought this stem plant from my LFS.

The stems are twig-like in stiffness and have gently curves.

Currently I'd say the plant is about 7" tall.

The leaves are red & darkish green and about an inch long. They are pointy at the end.

This plant also has small white flowers that are currently closed.

The people in the store could not identify it but they said it might be Creeping Charlie but this is a terranium plant.

Any idea without seeing a picture

Any plant that is twig like is most unlikely to be a true aquatic plant. These have evolved in water and use the water to support themselves. There are groupls, Crypts, swords etc. that have a robust emergent form and a soft immersed form, but they are still just stronger leaves, nothing you could describe as twiggy.

There are an awful lot of plants sold for aquarium use that are simply non-aquatic, and will die and rot in water. I remember in the '80s "hedge plants", these were as you have described, and were literally hedge clippings from gardens in Malaya!
