Yesterday I bought a rock with some beautiful zoanthids on it. This morning, when I started looking, I saw a dark red "thing" on the underside. I thought it was a featherduster. Then I saw another.... and another.... and another.... and I realized that this rock is COVERED. They look like some type of very small polyp, but I'm at a loss for what.

This picture is bloody MASSIVE.... I'm warning you now. It's straight off my camera and saved in JPG format... so it's 2272x1704.... BIG. Just look around and you'll see them all over the picture, sticking out everywhere.

They look like aptasia to me, but I'm not an aptasia expert...

The zoas are gorgeous though!

Certainly not aiptasia. They have a gorgeous blood red color to them.... I've never seen Aiptasia in anything other than clear or pink.

Well, that's one I'm glad to be wrong on then!

While we're on it, here's a pic of the zoanthids themselves :)
