I currently have a 25 gallon tank (20 inches tall, 24 inches wide and 12 inches deep) that has 5 corys, 5 platys, 2 dwarf honey gourami, 7 neon tetras and 1 pleco.
I have been researching angelfish for the last couple days, and wanted to get some advice from the experts before deciding anything.
I have a couple questions regarding adding an angelfish to my tank:

1. I have no previous experience with angelfish, so I wanted to start with one that was fairly hardy and easy to care for. Would a marbled angelfish be a good choice for this?

2. Will an angelfish do okay if there's only one of it in the tank? Will it interact with the other fish at all, or will it be too lonely?

3. What are the chances of the angelfish being agressive towards the gourami or tetras? Could having these species together end up being a big problem? (the tetras are all fairly large by the way, most of them are almost an inch long)

Thanks in advance, I hope I dont have too many questions for you :p

What kind of Pleco is it? All angels are the same. Unless you get something like Altums or Leopaldi ( sp?). Anyway, any regular angel, marble, black ( they can be a little more sensitive), Albino, Gold, Long fin, ect. They should be fine in your tank. But, int he wild, tetras are a natural diet for angels, so the neons may be a snack later in the angels life. It might be lonely , depending on how interactive he/she is with the tank mates. As almost all fish, they do better in groups, but your tank cant hold a group.

The pleco is a Sailfin Pleco
He's quite large (about 10 inches from his nose to the tip of his tail)

I really would love to have an angelfish, but if there's any chance of it not interacting with the other fish and being lonely, then Im not going to get one..
I guess what Im wondering is, what would someone who has more experience angelfish do if they were me?
Could having the angelfish work, or is this just a bad idea?

I would defo remove that pleco. They need a minnimum of 55 gallons. They get alot bigger than 10 inches, trust me. I have seen 24 inch ones! It could work, it could not. It depends on the fish.

haha yeah
every time I mention the pleco, it inevitably leads to 'you need to get rid of him!'
however, I don't have a bigger tank for him, I cant set one up, and I just dont have the heart to give him away :(
Ive had him for almost 4 years now!

yeah I definitely realize how big the sailfins can get...
anyways, back to the angelfish, I think Im just going to forget it since I cant really seem to find anyone who thinks it could work..

wow great looking plec nelly cant wait for mine to grow now. hes around 4 inches at the mo. so just a baby

One angel would be alright, color varieties don't really matter. The only difference is veil tail or the regular.
The angel would probably eat the neons.

Pleco really needs a new home, I hate to say :\ Do you have the heart to let it suffer? You can get a smaller variety pleco....
