So... my dad has a natural pond by his cabin. Its been there for.... a really long time! Lol.
I was wondering, is there anyway to improve the water quality or clean a natural pond? Without having to like install a filtering system?
From what I understand, it is fed and filtered by a spring. And the water is good enough for fish to survive... but the looks of it have went down hill over the past decade. (I'll try and get some pictures next time I'm over there.)

It just doesn't look as good as it use to. And the water in it is just.... really dirty. I know that doesn't make a whole lot of sense, it being a "pond" and all.... but it just use to look cleaner and "more alive". I wish I had pictures of how it use to look so you could see what I mean exactly.

Well as for water clarity if you don't want a filter I'd get some good hearty pond plants they will help and if there's algae some pond snails couldn't hurt either.

I looove natural ponds...

...if only there weren't any biting bugs in our area though lol
