I bought a nano tank today 5 litre.
I specifically got it to house some platy fry I have.
I have filled the nano completely using water from my already established larger Aquarium.
How long must I wait before I transfer the fry to the nano?

They are currently in a breeding tank in the main aquarium.

5 liters Is a very small tank. I don't suggest putting fry in there at all.

But they will grow very fast. Are you planning to move them to a bigger tank after they grow?

Yes it’s just untill they’re big enough that my other fish won’t try to eat them and then I can put them back into the main aquarium

Oh, I see.

Does the 5 liter tank have a filter? If you took the water straight from your cycled tank, you should be able to put them right in. (Given that the small tanks water in the same temperature as the big tanks water)

It has a filter and a heater.
I just wasn’t sure if I had to run it for a while first before I did the transfer.

It would be preferable that you add a little bit of the bigger tanks filter media, to the smaller tanks filter. Let it run for about 5 minutes, then put the fry in.

No problem! Let me know if you have any more questions. :)
