a good friend of mine has a 5" dojo loach in her 33gallon that has obviously outgrown its enviroment
she was over today and was admiring my beautiful 55gallon long setup
when she asked if i would rehome her dojo into my tank
i agreed, as i have a bit of extra space to spare
unfortunatley i have been thinking...
a loach that size that is known for eating anything and everything that can fit into his big mouth....
hmmm....
do you think he will eat my khuli loach?
i currently only have one in the tank...
should i be concerned???
or will he be ok seeing as he is supposed to be "peaceful community" :dunno:

Misgurnus angullicaudatus mouth are no where near big enough to swollow a Khuli Loach. They are Omnivorous, excepting most foods but it is unlikely they would ever be able to consume fish other than fry. :)

As an aside, Kuhli Loaches, whilst not really schooling fish, are certainly gregarious. You will see a lot more of them if you keep several.

i understand that
i was only wondering if it would be safe to have a dojo loach with one :dunno:

the reason i only have one khuli loach is that they are scarse to find
when i bought him, i bought him a friend aswell (who didn't make it sadly)
thinking that them being the last 2 ment that the store would soon restock
WRONG
they rarley get them in because the breeder sells them too young and they usually don't make the trip over
so the odd times they do get them in , they are FAR too small and will either perish simply from changing water quality or they will be too teeny tiny and swallowed up by my larger fish :X
so you see i am in a bit of a pickle
i am keeping my eye out for the next shipment however

back to the real subject, dojo's won't eat small fish?
i read that they eat everything (veggi's, shrimp, bloodworms, etc)
and someone reportedly said that they will eat fish smaller then them :/
but then again there is so much false information out there i have no idea what to believe

My comment was simply an aside, I had nothing to add to Ryans answer. Perhaps I should have been clearer, no, I don't think it will eat the Kuhli.
