Hi all...
I have a question that has puzzled me for some time. I have three yo yo loaches in one of my tanks. I bought them all at the same lfs at the same time. When I bought them, I knew what they were, but little else. They all appeared to be the same as babies.
Now, they've grown, and one is different from the other two. For one thing, he's way bigger; he's probably an inch longer and at least three times as fat. I figured this could be a gender difference or maybe just that the big one is the dominant fish. They definitely have a pecking order. (Interestingly, my skunk loaches, which are a fraction the size of the yo yo's, are in charge.) However, the big guy's markings are different, too. They're the same, but in a different pattern. The big fish looks exactly like the little ones, but he's bigger, and his markings don't spell yo yo. Is he still a yo yo loach, or is he something different? Any ideas?
