My Tank Nightmare

hi peeps, well im new to this site and really hope some 1 can help me, im having yet another mare with my tank, i have been keeping fish for around 6/7 yrs now but moved house and bought new tank last yr, and having nothing but trouble, to try and cut a long story short, i set my tank up (200 litre fluval 205) jan 09 all was well until jan this year when i introduced some new fish a week later it looked like they had white spot but not all the fish then the amonia was sky high and began to loose fish treated with white spot next thing i came home from wk my tank was white/cloudy and all bar 5 fish were dead i was heart broke, anyway did water changes,realised the tank was going through its cycle with the remaining fish in it 1 even had babies,1 month later all was well,did all tests, everything ok, left the tank alone until 4 week ago when i bought 2 red spot severums all was well still, did another weekly test yesterday all still well until tonight when yet again got home from wk to find tank white/cloudy 2 fish dead, removed some of fish and put them in a 2nd tank i bought incase this happened again (2nd tank all ok)but i noticed one of the mollies was coverd in white fungus and died about 5 mins ago, the red spot severum thats in the 2nd tank is dying and i dont know what the hell to do other than the part water change i did 3 hrs ago and put some anti bacteria stuff in its happening all over again and im really gutted......any ideas really appreciated x

Since you have been having some water quality problems, I'll move your thread over to the "Your New Freshwater Tank" section. The members there will walk you through checking your water stats to eliminate that as the cause. Then, you might also want to post in the Emergency section for specific help with curing your fish.

Sorry you are having problems, may some of the members who frequent here can help. Are you in the habit of testing your water and if so, what make and model of test kits do you use?

What make/model of filter(s) do you use and on what volume tank? What types of filter media do you use to filter the water? Also can you describe your water change maintenance routine?

Do you have a quarantine tank to use prior to introducing fish to your main community tank?

200 litres is pushing the limits of what the fluval 205 can filter. I use one on my 125l and it's about right.

Having said that if you don't overstock it should be fine.

Could you list all your test results including:
ph, ammonia, nitrite and nitrate.

Without knowing any of that it's hard to do anything but make wild guesses. Like, maybe a sev killed something, which caused an ammonia spike, killing other stuff?
