Here is my 3.5ft tank which I recently rescaped away from being heavily planted to bare beauty lol.

My question is what would you stock it with it currently has 8 assorted rainbowfish that will be rehomed soon and three bn catfish.
Thanks

How about a Mexican biotope with platies and firemouths?

Wow it looks really cool!
Do you have a before picture?

Have you considered adding a few plants, like java fern or anubias, which can be attached to the driftwood?

What sort of fish are you interested in?
The best thing would be to go to your LFS and write down the names of all the fish you like :)

I wanted something with a bit of size have kept nearly all types of fish from many different areas lol I don't want any plants in it.
Cheers

you could try pearl gourami with a medium sized pleco (peppermint maybe, or smaller) and a school of some kind of barbs

Looking how your set up looks and how spacious it is.I would probably be looking at a couple of fire eels or some other larger species of fish like Oscars or Jack Dempseys with maybe a nice plec or armoured catfish.

I don't think a 3.5 foot tank is big enough for any of those species, tbh.

The average Oscar will grow to 12-14 inches in length. So one Oscar should be fine in a 55 gallon tank. Same goes for the Jack Dempsey as for the fire eels they have been known to reach about 2 feet but average around 12 inch.

You're entitled to your opinion, but I, personally, find it a bit old fashioned, and most of the members here would also disagree with you.

My own oscar started out in a 55g and it just wasn't big enough. They need at least four times their own length and twice in width, in most people's view, which would give you a tank of 4.5'x2'x2' as a minimum.

55 is way too small for those kind of fish. That's it.
I got my fire eel 1,5 years ago, and he was about 20 cms in length. Now he is almost 80cms in length, and that's closing  3 feet.

Right then folks thank you for you're options an ideas I do like the sound of fire mouths as never owned them how many could I have ? .
what open water fish could I get or even other single types of cichlid as I do like the look of either salvini or a electric blue jack Dempsey as never owned either of these.

I was going to throw a 'blackwater' biotope at you...

If you are interested in any more ideas.
