I purchased a regal tang at the weekend and when i first put him in the yellow tang wasn't happy and kept chasing him!

I turned the lights off overnight and the next day/evening everything was fine.

The problem is, ever since he is laying down on his side inbetween a bit of live rock. The good news is when I feed he comes out to eat and then goes back to lay down!!

The colour on him is gorgeous, perfect blue with no bad bits so his health is fine!

Any ideas???

The tank is near enough 6 foot, its fine!

It's just laying down all the time underneath the live rock (alive) and then comes out for feeding then back again!!

hi mate I don't know really, but I'll give this a bump.

I do know that the yellow is more aggressive than the blue, and ideally the blue should go in first so it can make a teritory. So you could try moving the rocks and stuff around might help it get a teritory and stop being such a big girl :p

I saw this behavior in a hippo tang at my LFS. The owners despite their decades of fishkeeping experience couldn't really explain it. They said the fish will either snap out of it eventually or its a sign of mysterious bad health and it will die... -_-. The hippo in question came out of his slump 3 weeks after arrival, now he's swimming around like a normal tang
