My Poor Mollies Tail

My dalmation mollie was happy as a lark yesterday and this AM as well. When I checked him this afternoon, a good portion of his lovely tail was gone. I not sure if it's fin rot (very aggressive if it is) or if one of his tank mates hurt him. I've moved him to his own little home so he can heal as best as possible.

The tank mates are a swordtail (established), and a catfish (just purchased). My suspicion falls on the catfish as he is new. Has anyone ever had a catfish attack a tank mate?

What sort of Catfish is it?

It's a blue channel catfish....

Any help would be appreciated. If he's not a good tank mate, I'll return him to the LFS.
