I set this tank up about 4 weeks ago now, and the shrimp have been in there for getting on for 3 weeks (it was a mature filter, mature substrate). The tank is just for shrimp. At the moment there are approximately 30 cherries in there (the one pregnant female my friend sent me has dropped at least 4 shrimplets that I've been able to count).

Tank is 27 litres (SuperFish Aqua40), filtered by an Eheim 2222. 18w compact T5 lighting retrofitted into the hood.

Full shot. That riccia will be gone this time tomorrow :)

Shrimplet! (I really need a better lense!):

Difficult to get up close, any advice on a cheap macro lense for an EOS300D?

Feeding time. I've noticed they've nearly all coloured up nicely now:

This root is proving to be a good posing spot:

Next to it's "Big brother" (90cm):

Great tank! :good:
Those fire-shrimps are awesome Mine arrived a few day's ago

Too bad the riccia has to disappear.

Wow good looking tanks, I really like the wood/roots. Were your shrimps expensive? I got a couple of red cherry shrimps at £1.95 and 2 normal shrimps for a bit more.

Good work :good:

Fabulous Tanks.

I was thinking of having a other tank with shrimp and neon tetra.

How many litres do you need to keep shrimp.

Not many to be honest. Some keep shrimp in not much more than 2 litres but I wouldn't personally.

I managed to count up to 6 shrimps carrying eggs last night! Going to have a lot of shrimp in the next few months :)
