Well I got Flare a week ago, and i love him to bits already, just wanted to share him. He's such a cheeky little chap, and any time I sit down next to him he spends the time flaring at me...hence his name Flare. He always comes over to see me though and he watches you as you wander around the room . Is this excessive flaring a sign he's unhappy, ultra aggressive or is it fairly normal? He's my first betta and my plan was to eventually move him in beside my Endlers but I am worried that his constant flaring is a sign he's really aggressive?

Here's a video.. just click on it to view..

Its nothing to worry about. Many betta often do this when they transition from the store to a nice tank. I see it as a sign that they are still healthy and marking there territory. He will eventually stop in a week or two

Yes I agree, he's just getting used to his surroundings and staking out his territory :) And when you're in the room it is normal for him to notice and flare. As long as he's in the dark at night he'll be getting plenty of rest and not becoming too stressed out :)

Great news then, I kind of thought it'd have settled down by now hence I thought i'd ask. I don't mind as long as its not a sign he's stressed.

Babystarz- Yeah I always have the lights off any time I am out of the house and over night when I go to bed so he should have plenty of time without the lights. :good:
