I've had my jewel cichlid for 3 years now. At one point a while ago most of my water evaporated, and there was so much algae that I couldn't see anything. One time he jumped out of bowl that i was using to hold him and was flopping on the floor for 3 minutes. I was just posting this because i thought it was very strange, i read online that jewel cichlids are not hardy at all.
