My Hermit Crabs Do Nothing ?

i got some hermit crabs at the weekend and some snails. The snails hide all day and start to wander at night.

But the hermits just sit togther in a bunch with their legs dangling and do nothing....

did i get lazy ones?? or could they still be stressed from the move etc ??

when i first put them in they had a good munch on algae for a hour or so, but now laze about. They do pop in and out of their shells every now and then so seem alive.

My hermits are so unpredictable, one day they will eat everything in site and then the next couple of days just lay around

When my ammonia spontaneously peaked, the hermits slowed down, until, although there was no sign of decay, they stopped moving and died.

It might be worth it to check you ammonia PPM.

My hermits eat everything edible. They have decimated macro, ripped off coral flesh, and frequently chased my lionfish after he eats, which is rather comical! They are a PITA and I am trying to sell them. Never again.

my ammonia nitrite and nitrate all read a bit fat 0 (tested by 2 different kits)

i'll just leave them a few days see what happens. when i got up this morning 2 have wandered off somewhere and i cant see them so they must of decided to move.

i have the sorta same problem (well not a problem i suppose ) my 1 hermit sits around on a couple pieces of substrate level live rock all day - maybe moves an inch or 2 overnite - but always hangs around the same spot!

A total lazy b*s***d!

Turbo snails also hide by day but wonder around all night!

well hmm i must have a good bunch cuz my are never sitting still xcept for lucy' THE FAT 1" i call her that since she was the smallst one and she switched shells to the biggest one available in the tank so she cant really move much lol, intersting to watch lol, but ya i accidently got the carnivorous type that get huge and well hmmm there in the jail till they go back they ate all of my blue feather dusters, some red, and my nly green one all hitchikers, and my 2 hitchiker starfish so ya that really made me angry.
