Well, my betta, Sori, is over a year old now. I purchased him the week before Valentine's Day, picked him up from the shop on Valentine's Day last year, and now I have him this year, the week after Valentine's Day.

I could tell when I got him, that he was an adult betta (with finrot, at that), but now, he's a total grey-beard. He can't swim very well, but he can sort of 'burst' if he wants to. He's red, has ugly curled up red fins, and a silver chin. Just your standard issue VT. :*) He's freakin cute. Like a little pitbull that wiggles to and froe. He flares at mirrors only once or twice, and then loses interest. He's extremely frisky at feeding time. When I feed him bloodworms with chopsticks, his lips actually click against the plastic.

And now, two very shoddy pictures of his newly remodeled home. The plants visable are curly java fern, anubias barteri (x2), standard java fern, and java moss. Everything is growing in there. He's got two coconut caves and a big fat piece of driftwood. He shares his flat with three African Dwarf Frogs. They get along very well. :)

He gets fed Hikari Betta Bio-gold daily, frozen bloodworms every other day, mysis shrimp once a week, and frozen brine shrimp on occasion.

I actually just felt like boasting. :look:

 Actually, he gets the varied diet almost entirely thanks to his ADF tankmates. Most of my fish all eat the same things, so I'm not at a loss for purchasing frozen foods. They are kind of expensive, at $14 per packet, but a packet tends to last me about 2 months. Cheaper than cats, that's for sure. :D

I kinda like the way his tank turned out. I wish I could remove one of those Anubias' out of its basket, but I'm not sure what to attach it to.

Oh, and Sori thanks you. He also waved his cane about and told you to get off his lawn.

Really nice, soritan. Yes, Happy Birthday Sori. He's a fine fellow, and a good companion to you.

Thank you for the tank compliments. :)

I'd attach it to the driftwood, but it's my favorite piece. I love the way it looks, and protect it from anything taking root on it. I want to be able to use it outside of an aquarium environment should the chance arise... such as... maybe in a crabitat. :shifty:

Although, I do like how striking it is in that small tank. It goes from the front of the tank, to the back of the tank, in a sort of arch, and everyone likes sitting on it, swimming through it, and hiding beneath it.

 Stop complimenting me/him! It makes me want to thank you, and keeps the thread on the top of the forum! :X

;) I'm glad you all like him and his little betta paradise. He's such a geezer, I think he needs a wee walker, now. :) When he swims, it's mostly shoulder action and determined looks. I think he's going to die of old age, which rather saddens me a bit... but I guess, he probably lead a full life before me, and I'm sort of like his retirement home in Florida.
