You are correct in your assumption. The red texas is a manmade fish. I have seen pics and it is a nice looking fish. At least the creator did not mess with it's body shape, only the color.

Have seen african river species similar to Buffaloheads at lfs, but these are smaller and slimmer. Very comical to watch.. Any clues to Identity CM?

Gibbo...I've been seeing the Steatocranus "tinanti" pop up over here in the US..could this be the one you are thinking of?

hey there, I had a tininti years ago but haven't seen any in shops for a long time. have seen them mail order though. don't know of any other steatocranus that are imported. wouldn't mind if there were though, they're a neat species
