I am not by any means a professional but not a beginner either. Takes a lot of work having 8 separate tanks. The last one added was the indoor pond. It's 90 gallons with all live plants around it. Kept them alive during the Wisconsin winters and don't have the heart to take them back outside. They look so pretty inside.

Great collection of tanks and ponds :) I love all the house plants, do you keep them separate from the aquariums or do you do any riparian planting?

Beautiful betta too :) What are in all the tanks fish wise?

The smaller tanks are Betta tanks, the large one a freshwater community tank with two plecos, Corey cats, bamboo shrimp, a couple of mollies, red tail shark, and male guppies. The twenty-gallon has the female guppies and fry in it. I try to keep males and females separate cause Lord knows I have ENOUGH guppies to last a lifetime LOL. The pond has Shubunkin Koi and I will be setting up another smaller pond if my injured goldfish makes it. Going to keep him separate from now on and maybe put in one other goldfish with him. I have one of the ferns rooted into the pond as well as some of the Lucky Bamboo.

She Who Must Be Obeyed thinks I work too hard and spend too much time on my measly seven aquariums but it makes me happy. It really is a labor of love.
But , hey , your tanks are great ! Very nice.
I agree, I just had my sister tell me she hopes nothing happens to me because she has no idea how to take care of the now eight tanks I have. LOL.

I know all about it... But I've got over 80 tanks. But it's a routine and then it doesn't bother me to have this load of work of maintenance. But if it's all well balanced, the work is still doable...

I love your pond... :good:
I don't know if I could do 80 or afford to run 80 tanks lol. I give you props!!

There are people who think that I'm only focusing on those tanks and fish for 24 hours a day. But actually, there's enough time left for me to have my social life and other interests. As long as the tanks are well balanced, the maintenance is still doable. But I can earn my money back by selling fish on a regular basis. I'm fortunate enough that the livebearer species that I breed are seriously wanted. And I'm playing by a standard that is appreciated by my customers. And I also offer those fish at relevant vivaristic events. Also zoos and research labs can order from me. So yes, also I do have my costs in this wonderful hobby but do earn that money back.

Wow! Really beautiful tanks! I love your collection!

Great tanks. Hope your enter one of your tanks in our upcoming Tank of the Month contests.
July is for tanks sized at 17 to 30 US gallons
August is for 31 gallons and larger
September is for 16 US gallons and smaller.

That's a really nice, varied set up. You're doing a few different things, which must be fun. They're all beautiful.

Big fishrooms are thing of the past, which is a loss. When I joined one of the local clubs in the 90s, there were at least 2 dozen local people with anywhere from 10 to 150 tanks, and angelfish , mbunas, guppies and a bunch of other fish were supplied to stores by local breeders. We had a natural disaster (a massive icestorm that killed power for a week or more, in winter). Very few people restarted.
Just before I moved, you could see a slight resurgence happening.

But set ups like yours don't need to make money or pay for themselves. You can spend a lot more on cigarettes, games, gambling etc in a year than on a fishroom, and yet, people think a fishroom is strange and the other activities are cool. I had a neighbour who dropped a few grand in Las vegas, over a weekend, yet seemed to think my fishroom was over the top. Uh huh.

Lovely setups and great commitment. I’d love to have the time to get multiple setups going and I guess with a bit of decent planning I could sort the plumbing up to save a huge amount of time but the mrs thinks the 200g is enough.
