looks good youll need to trim it in a month!

haha erm i cant imagine anytime soon, i left all my cotton on no matter how much moss there was, just because i didnt want to wake up in the morning and see half the tank coverred in moss!

Do you have bottom dwellers? You'll need to keep an eye and make sure none of them get caught in the thread underneath the coconut shell.

I'd re-tie it so there is no loose fishing line, a fish could get trapped.
I never took the fishing line off, kept it as it was. It looks good by the way.

Yes, nylon string is a pain if the fish get caught in it. I once had to pull some out of a fish I was given, which was a relatively stressful experience for both of us, especially as the wounds had healed around the string by then and the fish was in a tank with about 50 kg of rockwork.

I lost a fish to the line problem. That's when I started using Super Glue. It works beautifully. But just be sure to only use the kind that's cyanoacrylate, which is safe for aquariums. Other than that, they look really good!

but shrimp should be ok shouldn they  I dont know how else to attach them, and Im not keen on super glue

super glue is v. easy to use its not dangerous.

id still want to take it off or at least block up the holes.

I was a bit leery about using Super Glue at first, but when I finally tried it, I found it works so well I won't use any other methods. Especially with java moss, you just lay down a bit of glue, put the moss on it and it sticks. No worries about fishing line or cotton string showing or tangling up your fish, or shrimp in your case.

it will work yes you'll just have to hold it a bit more :)

and nono it has to be pure cyanoacrylate (SP!) otherwsie its just poisonous :) i think mine was £1 ish for aout 10ml

I used Duro® Super Glue, the original. But make sure you look at the ingredient list to be sure it's cyanoacrylate.

The things you're gluing don't have to be dry, but they shouldn't be dripping wet either. I just take a paper towel and press to remove the excess moisture.

This Super Glue saved me a trip to the hospital a couple weeks ago! Cut my finger to the bone, and the Super Glue saved me from getting stitches, and probably a few hundred dollars. LOVE the stuff.
