My First Expectant Mum :-)

Just got back in from work today and came straight to check on my tank. Ken and Deirdre (corrie)have been acting very odd and now I know why!! Deirdre has a mouth full of little eggs! my first babies! I'm excited as I've not had them all that long!

What do people suggest? the tank is due for a clean and water change at the weekend - should I catch her and put in a breeding net? I would like to keep the fry...preferably alive!

Definitely not if they have only just spawned, she will be holding for around 3 weeks, if you've got a spare tank that would be best so she gets peace but if not leave her where she is for now

If its her first time she will most likly either spit them prematurely or swallow them, most dont know what they are doing first time, usually get it right on the second

She held them for three weeks, spat them out, panicked and gobbled the lot. Hopefully have more luck next time. Ken is following her everywhere so won't be long!!

Lol that's ok. She's actually holding again, along with one of my yellow labs. There's loads of places to hide so leaving them both be for now.
