My sister, our friend, and I went to Goodwill today. They were looking for school clothes, I think. I don't know. Anyway, I, of course, checked out the current stock of fishtanks there - they almost always have a 10-gallon or two, as well as "goldfish bowls" of varying sizes. Today they had a 10-gallon with a piece of driftwood (ooohhhhh) and some other stuff, another 10-gallon with hamster/gerbil accessories, and assorted fishbowls. Then, when Annie (my sister) and Jesse (our friend) were checking out, I noticed a 10-gallon tank near the checkout. Inside of it was a hood and a Python Gravel Vac system thingy (and a cat collar and a net, but those items weren't of interest to me) - all for $3.99! :hyper:I snatched that tank up, asked if anyone had claimed it ('cause it was up by the registers), and when they said 'no', I got in line to pay for it.

I didn't need the 10-gallon tank, nor did I need the hood, but I figured that getting a Python for $3.99 was quite a deal! I don't know which length it is yet...haven't stretched it out. I can use it for my 29-gallon, or let my mom use it for the tank she'll have in her classroom this school year. I was just so excited to get a Python, and a hood, for so little money! :fun:

It was a good day :p :)

I'm off to make breakfast for the husband before he heads to work.

Nice find. There are usually some of them here will I live but I have never had any time to go search them out.

Wow! Very nice find! That was my first thought when I was reading your post...heck with the tank, a python for that price? Lol The tank is just a bonus

I'm planning on getting a python too, unfortunately I need the 50 foot length so it can be used for my community tank, which is all the way in the living room, so the cost of a new one is like $60-$70 :(

My thoughts exactly! A Python for $3.99? What a deal! My husband still hasn't said anything about the "new" tank sitting on our living room floor -_- Not sure if he just hasn't noticed or has been to tired to say anything.

Big Al's has a 50' Python for $34.99: 50' Python

you should just go to a hardware store and replace the hose part. usually its only like 50 cents a foot or something like that. i got 4 foot of 5/8" hose for 1.33. not bad at all, and much more convienient

seems like it would be hard to get the sypthon going though with a 50 foot tube.

Pythons are the ones that drain water wilst they fill, right? I've always wondered about those thing, don't most people have chlorine in their faucets? Does it have a way to deal with that, or do you just add decholrinator afterwards?

325pilot, you add dechlor to the tank before adding the new water.
