Hey guys I had this tank for 1 year now, it's my first tank and I'm very proud of it!
It's a 20 gal freshwater fish tank.
My fish tank (Freshwater)

1 black mystery snail
3 red Serpae Tetras
3 black sepae Tetras
1 blue gourami
1 pictus catfish
1 amano shrimp
1 black algae eating fish ( don't know the name)

That's a very pretty tank. Nice healthy looking fish too. :good:

I believe thats a Siamese Algae Eater as your "black algae eater"

Nice collection of fish.

IMO thats quite a strong light set for a tank with so little plants. I have the same lightset in my planted 2ft and i get algae issues on the wood without dosing ferts. Do you not have an issue with algae yet?

Yes, it is a very powerful light and i am getting more plants soon, and yes i had a LOT of algae problems so now i try to have the light on for only 2 hours a day!

thanx

The tellowish color in the tan is from the drift wood and my tank contains clean water!
Thanx everyone

did you boil and soak the drift wood before you put it in your tank?

i have drift wood in my tank, but i boiled it for 2 hours and soaked it in a bucket of water for 3 weeks till it stopped leaking tannins into the water, then put it in my tank...

Your black sepae Tetras are in fact Black Phantom Tetras Serpaes are exclusively red versions of these. i.e. Serpae Tetra is enough to describe them.

I agree with the light issue mine always tend to hang out in the shadier spots. You know they are happy when they darken up (not too much obviously!) and they tend to look stunning like this too!

I didn't soak because I didn't know about it then, but over time the color decreased and it's now a very pretty light yellow so it seems like the fish are naturally swimming in the lake.lol

Thanks for the advice and comments everyone! :hyper:
