hi i have just disocered that one of my cardinals has lockjaw (according to the shop i got them from)

it tries to eat but is missing the food...
as it cant close its mouth

is there anything i can do to cure it... or how is it caused.....

Just make sure he has nothing stuck in his mouth, i've had it with harlequins and they die as there is nothing to be done, sorry.

spoke to another fish shop....

i think it may of banged itself against the glass .. and broken it jaw or dislocated it...

he pretty much said that it may fix itself or not....

one of them goes a bit mad when the light goes out in the tank...and hits the sides of the tank..
i think it may be him..hence the broken/dislocated jaw....

cheers anyway...

just checking to see if it is was cause by a bacterial infection or any other thing contagious...

keep you posted.....

When you switch the tank light off leave the room light on so it not such a shock for the fish, just see how he goes, good luck bless him.
